When I found out that there was going to be a rodeo in town, I knew we must go! We gathered some friends and whatever western duds we had and headed up to the found-up! It turned out to be a great evening of family fun and I think we'll make it a tradition. The pictures are not the best quality, but it was dark and I really need a new camera. (hopefully a certain someone will read this and think of this when my birthday rolls around in a few weeks...)

Our little family. Marissa really wanted down and Ryan is really not that fat in real life. His shirt was just a little tight!

Here's Ryan's whole ensemble. Next year he plans to add a hat and some Wranglers and then he'll feel like a genuine cowboy. What you can't tell from the picture is that he also dowsed himself in cologne, too. He said cowboys have to smell good.

Brandon wants to be a cowboy for Halloween and we ordered his costume a few days ago and he was awfully disappointed that it hadn't come by rodeo time. All he had were his boots, but they were awesome boots!

He and his buddies Owen and Will had too much fun. Most of the time, they were down in front right next to the fence so they could see all the action close-up. Brandon's favorite part was the rodeo clowns, followed closely by the bull riding. The excitement pictured above never waned even though it was very late by the time it was all over.

Miss Marissa also loved the sights, sounds, and smells of the rodeo. She stayed awake the whole time too and was always going. She loved the cows that say "moo" and the horses that say "nay". In the stands, she would work her way over to anyone who had some food and sit next to them, hoping for a handout. Whenever the music came on, she would break into dance and every once in a while, we would be walking around and she would just spontaneously clap her hands and squeal with delight. She's so much fun to take places!

Watching the action with daddy and grandpa. She wouldn't stay on anyone's lap for long, though!

Afterwards, the kids found a stage with a big flag and big boots. Brandon wanted to try on the boots...

And May had to pose with Felicity in front of the flag. Overall, a fabulous event and to those who weren't able to join us this year: We'll definitely be going again next year!

So fun to see you there! We had a blast too!
That looks like a complete blast, and I cannot quit giggling about Ryan's insistence that Cowboys have to smell good....so funny!
