A baby cake!

Last week, I made my first "cake for hire." A friend called and asked if I could make her a cake for a jungle themed baby shower she was throwing. She brought me over a piece of fabric that she was using for decoration and wanted a cake to match it. Other than that, she let me do whatever I wanted. I stayed up late and looked at ideas online and thought and planned and worked on it all week and this is what I came up with:

The teal and orange were the colors from the fabric that tied the cake in with the other decorations. Everything was made out of marshmellow fondant and tasted quite delicious. I was thrilled with the way it turned out and my friend seemed quite pleased, too, when I delivered it to her. It was such a fun project. The only problem is that now Marissa wants a "Jungle Junction" birthday cake for her birthday in two months and I already have big plans for her watermelon party. Hopefully she'll have forgotten about it by the time her actual birthday rolls around!
