Our last full week of summer vacation was a busy, full, and fun one, mostly thanks to Laurie and Adam who brought Kaden, Kyle and Kloe down from Utah to hang out with us! We went to Adventure City, the beach, swimming, Knottsberry Farm, and the Orange County Fair. Fun times.
Marissa, however, loved the petting zoo and all the "doggies".
After too much waiting and wandering around looking at other things at the fair, we finally made it to the big slide where Brandon and Kaden got to zoom down. They both loved it, of course.
Brandon wanted to get his picture taken in all of the little head cut-out things. We didn't get to them all at the fair, but we did get this one...
...and the drunk guy with the pigs...
So the Orange County Fair wasn't actually on our adgenda for the day. This cool dragon slide and the playground it is located in was our original plan, but after driving 45 minutes to get to it, we were told it was closed for a big corporate party! Irritating! They did let us in for a few minutes and the kids rode the cool dragon slide, but then we were kicked out. The fair turned out to be our back-up plan and it was a lot of fun.
And this isn't the best picture, but Marissa was thrilled to meet Snoopy! She called him "doggy" and wanted to touch him and pet him and talk to him. It was really cute. The rest of these pictures are from Adventure City, a small amusement park down in Orange County somewhere. It only has about 10 or 12 rides, but it's perfect for the little kids and they love it because they can do everything by themselves. They also have this cool fog room that really helps out on hot days.
Another petting zoo and more "doggies" for Marissa. She loved this one, too.
Marissa and Grandma getting ready to ride the school bus. She looks so big in this picture. She thinks she's a big kid, too. She never wanted to get left behind on anything the older kids were doing! All the boys riding the fire truck. This ride has long been one of Brandon's favorites.
So, thanks for a fun week Laurie and Adam! We're now ready for school to start!
